In 2023, the 4000 euro scholarship will be awarded to the pianist Nil Mladin, who will also perform, as part of the scholarship, a recital in Bucharest organized by Radio Romania Muzical. Nil Mladin will also be invited to perform a concert with the Radio Orchestras, as well as recitals organized by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Brasov and the Romanian Youth in Bucharest. At the Cluj Philharmonic, he is scheduled to appear in a concert series, as well as in a recital as part of the 'Autumn Musical Cluj' festival in 2023. He has also been offered an artistic representation contract by Artexim. Additionally, Nil Mladin is set to record in the Radio Romania studios in 2024.

Nil Mladin (24 years old) began studying the piano in Bucharest and was a student at the 'George Enescu' National College of Music in Bucharest. He continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he was admitted with a full scholarship, and he is currently a graduate there. He is pursuing a postgraduate specialization focused on 20th-century composition. Nil Mladin has won several national piano competitions in Romania; a sensitive artist who has evolved remarkably in recent years, Nil Mladin is certainly an important voice among contemporary young pianists.

'The Hoinar Festival'

Both the program and narrative last night were in Romanian, so I was at a loss during Mitrea’s discourse with the audience. He often brought laughter and applause to everyone and is clearly well respected. In keeping with principles of The Hoinar Festival, after the first three pieces, Florian introduced a surprise young pianist (at least to me), Nil Mladin, who performed solo compositions.

Young Mladin is quite talented and clearly was known by the Romanian audience. Then, the two brilliant pianists performed several duos on the same piano. It was fantastic! Mitrea and Mladin ended with a rousing duo of Franz Liszt’s popular and famous Hungarian Rhapsody, delighting the happy audience!

'The Road to Celebrity Contest'

Nil Mladin, the winner of the ‘Dan Mizrahi’ trophy at the 10th International Competition ‘The Road to Celebrity Contest’

Nil Mladin, along with the money prize, was invited to perform as a soloist in a concert with the Radio Chamber Orchestra, a concert with the “Ion Dumitrescu Philharmonic Orchestra” in Ramnicu Valcea at the “Young Talents” Festival, a national tour of recitals entitled “Citadele Muzicale”.

Nil Mladin featured a musical thinking well pronounced, combined with an expressive and tumultuous tone. An intelligent pianist, sensitive and with a great enthusiasm of playing. The pianist has ignited the cheers of the audience, proving through this recital on Tuesday evening, that he has all the qualities of a musician capable to build up a beautiful career on the big stages in Romania and abroad.
